I'm Lars. Co-Founder of Polar Risk and owner of BitFidelity
In 2025, together with my good friend Paul Permentier, I founded Polar Risk. As of 2026 I have the privilege of being able to dedicate my full attention to Polar Risk in lieu of my freelance work.
Polar Risk translates organisations' cyber risks to the language of the business: Euros. Polar Risk's services answer three fundamental questions in cyber risk:
- What are my cyber risks?
- How much could those cyber risks cost me?
- When is secure, secure enough for my organisation?

In 2023 I founded the company BitFidelity for my work as a freelance cyber security consultant.
Since then I've worked primarily in the area of cyber security management. Otherwise known as Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC):

For organisations I've carried out risk analyses and assessments. Enabling organisations to make decisions on cyber security matters grounded in facts.
Policy Writing
Cyber security has a lot of moving parts. Communicating the shared goals of all these moving parts and defining the playing field and rules in which these parts operate is a challenge.
For organisations I have written stratregic, tactical and operational policies.
Vulnerability Management
Vulnerabilities Management went from "just patch management" to its own discipline.
I've helped organisations develop and implement a Vulnerability Management programme fitting their risk appetite and IT environment.
